Mass Fatality Air Accident / Aviation Disaster

‘What next’ for Victims ………. + their associated Family, Relatives and Friends etc.?

The information accessible via this webpage relates to a Mass Fatality Air Accident – ‘what happens now / next’ – for Victims, Families etc.? – type situation

‘Like it says on the tin / can’ – it attempts to provide useful guidance to all those who might potentially be ‘adversely affected‘ as a direct and / or indirect consequence of a catastrophic (mass fatality) aircraft accident / aviation disaster type situation

The associated (separate) reference document (wherein all of this information is contained [see link – bottom of this webpage]) has typically (but not exclusively) been targeted at surviving air accident victims + those * associated, ‘non-involved’ families, relatives & friends of all victims of such accidents – regardless of whether the latter (victims) survived (or not) …………. or if they were on board (or not e.g ground victims) the accident flight concerned / involved

* This term, as used herein, typically refers to families, relatives & friends (FR) – who were NOT directly involved in the associated accident / incident i.e. they were NOT on board the accident flight – NOR were they ground victims (Ground Victims being persons [if any] on the ‘ground’ – typically killed, injured and / or traumatised – as a direct result of the impact of the accident aircraft with the ground – or somesuch similar / equivalent event)

This information might also be found useful to emergency responders, carers etc. of all types (including those from airlines, airports and ground handlers) – associated in some valid way with catastrophic aircraft accident response and its aftermath

To put the above into some context, the term ‘adversely affected(as used in the second para further above) typically (but not exclusively) relates to:

  • Death
  • Physical Injury / Trauma
  • Mental Injury / Trauma (including varying degrees of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD] and similar)
  • Loss (as used in the wider sense e.g. loved ones; possessions; financial etc.)
  • etc.

As to ‘who‘ might be adversely affected – the answer varies considerably – depending on actual circumstances ‘on the day’

Re the title of this webpage (i.e. “Mass Fatality Air Accident – ‘what next’ for Victims + their associated Family, Relatives and Friends etc.?”) – the obvious candidates have already been mentioned (i.e. surviving accident victims and the associated family, relatives and friends etc. of all victims [regardless or not of whether the latter are alive, dead, missing etc.])

However, it is distinctly possible that involved emergency responders and carers etc. might be similarly (adversely) impacted in some way – particularly with regard to their own mental health and welfare. There will almost certainly also be others

All of the information referred to above (and more) may be found in our separate document (entitled ‘WHAT HAPPENS NOW?) You can access it by clicking HERE
