Introduction to above ‘Guideline / Template’ etc. series of FREE Documents

For an overview perspective as to what the ‘FREE DOCUMENTATION‘ part of this website is all about (including FREE services provided to aviation related organisations from any United Nations classified ‘Least Developed Country), take a look at the document found HERE – otherwise please read on

We also train all subject matter contained anywhere in this website. Whilst our face to face’ training in a ‘physical’ classroom is fee based (excepting ‘least developed countries‘ – as per above) ………. if the same training is taken on-line, it is provided absolutely free of charge – regardless of who the ‘customer’ might be; where in the world they might be located etc. For more details re the latter, click HERE

This webpage provides access to the FREEEmergency / Crisis Planning & Response (ERP) Ops for Airlines‘ template / guideline series of documents. The latter typically relate to aircraft operators (predominately passenger airlines) and can be found (+ freely available for access / download etc.) a little further below

Furthermore, other types of free guideline / template etc. type documents are also mentioned here (e.g. for Airports; for Ground Handling Agents etc.). They can be found variously under theFREE DOCUMENTS and the SERVICES dropdown menus shown at the top of this webpage. Most are additionally cross-referred to (linked to) further below

Additionally, a very comprehensive set of free information articles (around 60) is provided. They relate to many different aspects of aviation related crisis / emergency response matters

You will also find a free guideline document targeted specifically at emergency response planning (aircraft accident) for the smaller / simpler airline and other, similar categories of aircraft operator (e.g. Business Aviation)

Access etc.to both of the above is via the FREE DOCUMENTS dropdown menu

Finally, the latter dropdown menu also includes a very useful free document targeted at air accident victims (i.e. those who had been on board an accident flight) + their associated (non-flying [i.e. had not been on board that same accident flight]) family, relatives & friends worldwide

It explains in detail what can reasonably be expected to ‘happen to them’ (in the short, medium and longer terms) following an appropriately related catastrophic (mass fatality) aircraft accident / aviation disaster type situation. This document is entitled WHAT HAPPENS NOW?’

See ‘Terms and Conditions webpage for how exactly you might make use of the free documentation

1a. Airline Emergency Response Plan (ERP)

The latter comprises a series (‘suite‘) of component documents (called ‘volumes‘ herein [there are 10 of them]) which are typically required (by the vast majority of passenger airlines) to guide the preparation and associated operation of an emergency response plan (‘ERP‘ [made up of the 10 volumes]) – from the ground up

All 10 volumes of the ERP relate to different aspects respectively of the catastrophic aircraft accident (mass fatality aviation disaster) type situation only. For example ‘command and control ops (Vol 2)‘; ‘humanitarian assistance ops (Vol 3)‘; ‘GO Team ops (Vol 5)‘; ‘Crisis Comms (Vol 9)‘ etc. A ‘complete’ aircraft accident ERP MUST include all 10 component volumes

Whilst targetted primarily at the larger, scheduled passenger airline, the aircraft accident ERP can also be adapted for use by any other type of aircraft operator (e.g. charter / lease; cargo; VIP etc.) as required. Do remember, however, that we have also produced a separate ERP guideline document for ‘smaller / simpler’ aircraft operators / air carriers. It has already been cross-referred to a little further above

Note: Pedantically speaking each one of the 10 component (aircraft accident) ERP volumes might be more accurately termed a ‘guideline’ or a ‘template’ in its own right. The practical difference lies in the scope and depth of what is covered i.e. guidelines having an adequate level of detail to achieve what is required – whereas a template provides the 100% equivalent. ERP Volumes 1, 4, 7 and 9 are templates – the remainder of the 10 being guidelines. The ‘rationale’ for this can be found in the ‘Introduction‘ section of each of the 10 ERP volumes

Catastrophic Aircraft Accident – ERP

The 10 Volume  ‘Emergency / Crisis Planning & Response Ops for Airlines documents as required collectively to produce an effective and efficient airline ERP – are shown (linked to) in the bullet-point list a little further below:

Each volume deals with its own, specific subject area (A reminder again here that all 10 volumes taken together comprise the final / complete aircraft accident related ERP)

A logical, layout system / model for all of this was required. This has been accomplished and is based on our own derived system – already in use by some airlines

The first document linked to just below (not itself being an ERP Volume) provides a schematic diagram type summary of this layout system / model. (We strongly suggest that you take a look at it now – to get a better idea of what a ‘CRPM‘ [Crisis Response Planning Manual] is all about)

In the interests of universal ERP etc. standardisation (which is what the free documentation part of this website is all about in reality) we strongly recommend adoption of this ‘layout system / model’ (or something very similar) when producing / upgrading etc. your own equivalent ERPs

Additionally, we also needed to choose a typical, generic aircraft operator on which to base the ERP – which best turned out (for us and hopefully for the vast majority of users) to be a ‘medium to large sized, international (short, medium and long-haul), scheduled (passenger) airline’ – generically known herein as ‘ABCX Airways

Preamble notes at the front of each ERP component volume expand / explain this generic aircraft operator concept further

1b. Airline –  Aircraft Incidents

CRPM Part 2 – Aircraft Incident Response Plan IRP

A guideline document for producing an aircraft ‘incident response plan (IRP)(as defined by ICAO) is linked to immediately above. (Note that the IRP guideline document is a much simpler and shorter [30 pages only] document than the complete [all 10 volumes] airline ERP)

1c. Airline – Business Continuity Plan

CRPM Part 3 – Aviation Related Business Continuity Plan BCP

A very comprehensive (aviation related) BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLAN (BCP) preparation guideline / reference manual is linked to just below (known by us as ‘Crisis Response Planning Manual [CRPM] Part 3‘). It is 100% FREE (unless used for profit / gain / reward etc. purposes). CRPM Part 3 reflects ISO’s (International Organisation for Standards) latest business continuity standard ISO 22301:2019 + the latter’s ‘guidance / implementation’ standard – ISO 22313:2020

CRPM Part 3 / Volume 1 (Intro / Background Info) is available by clicking HERE

CRPM Part 3 / Volume 2 (The associated Detail) is available by clicking HERE

CRPM Part 3 is  also available via this website’s ‘FREE DOCUMENTSdrop-down menu under title ‘AIRPORT AEPGUIDELINES‘ and (separately) on the ‘AVIATION BUSINESS CONTINUITY‘ webpage – which (the latter) sits underthe  ‘SERVICESdrop-down menu
